Electrical Apprentice

Hello, my name is Paul and I thank you for your interest. I have been working as an Electrical Contractor for about 20 years, and I am seeking an apprentice to assist me and to be trained to become a fully qualified electrician.
I'm basically easy going, but, I have a good respect for the customer (the one that pays the bill) and I insist on carrying out only good quality work and being as "user friendly" as possible.
By doing this, I get most (99%) of my work by repeat customers or by "word of mouth".

The majority of my work is located in the Eastern Suburbs in the Potts Point to Vaucluse belt and is roughly divided 50/50 between commercial and domestic premises. The work ranges from fault finding and maintenance repairs through to additions and rewiring to working on construction sites.

  Training & Education
The apprenticeship period is for 4 years, commencing January 2000, with a 3 month trial.  If you have already been working as an electrical apprentice, time can be deducted. During the apprenticeship period you will be expected to complete the appropriate 3 year trade course by attending TAFE 1 day a week. Persons who have already completed the pre-apprenticeship course would have a definite advantage in their application.

Working Hours
The industry operates on a 38 hour week from Monday to Friday. Work will most likely start at 7.30am. There is one rostered day off every 4 weeks. Lunch time is 30 minutes and finishing time would be 4.00pm. Quite often the days work may not be completed by normal finishing time and you would be expected to work overtime. In any case it would be very unlikely to go past 6.00pm.
